The Wellington Street Renewal Project (Dewsbury)External view of five-storey Victorian Mill on Wellington Street

Over the last three years a significant amount of work has taken place in Dewsbury to transform the facilities for substance users and their families.  This culminated in 2005, with the opening of a £1million centre for people affected by drugs and alcohol offering a wide range of services under one roof.

European Regional Development Funding amounting to £388,553 has supported the refurbishment of the five-storey Victorian Mill on Wellington Street, along with funding from Kirklees Drug Action Team, Kirklees Safer Communities Partnership and Pilgrim Trust.

The project provided 975 square metres of premises, created 5 new jobs and accommodated 17 existing jobs.
