Skilled (Kirklees & Wakefield)

The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce received over £300,000 of European Social Funding for their Skill-ed or Skill and Employee Development Project.

Skill-ed aims to help companies in the Wakefield and Kirklees Objective 2 areas to become more innovative and competitive by developing their workforce.  It achieves this by offering financial support to small and medium sized businesses for staff training.  It also promotes lifelong learning by encouraging businesses to support their employees to share new skills and information across the business.  The team link businesses with an appropriate training provider, including other Objective 2 funded projects such as Netparkone, Workforce Now and Ethnic Business Support.
