Island Wharf, Hull City CentreExternal view of Island Wharf

Island Wharf, jointly funded by The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) £1.5m and Yorkshire Forward £8m, is a prime development of 2,980 m2 of office space in Hull.  Completed in August 2005, it is the first phase of the Humber Quays Development, a priority regeneration area within Hull City Centre.  It has been identified by Hull’s City Centre Masterplan as the 'Jewel in the Crown' of Hull's waterfront location.

This project has made use of about 3.29 Hectares of derelict land at Island Wharf and other sites in the centre of Hull and the site for a second building has been prepared.  Riverside access and public realm has also been improved.  This will prepare the site for further development levering in private investment and creating the office core Hull needs for its future prosperity.

The ERDF funded elements integrate with land re use to encourage businExternal view at night of Island Wharf.ess investment in key employment locations by bringing new sites forward for development;
generating new wealth and creating investment opportunities.

The total costs for the ERDF project include land purchase and fees, flood defences, site remediation, services, drainage, the first prime office building, providing a development platform for a second office building, high quality public plaza and waterfront access.

Island Wharf is being delivered by Yorkshire Forward and Hull Citybuild, Hull’s urban regeneration company. The project delivers on the Regional Economic Strategy’s aspirations to help Hull reinvent itself by moving the City into new higher value activities.
When completed, the Humber Quays development will extend to around 300,000 sq ft of office space, 35,000 External view at night across water of Island Wharf.sq ft of ancillary retails and leisure with 450,000 sq ft of prime residential space.
