Hull Community Church
An artists impression of Hull Community Church on completion

A new building for Hull Community Church is to be built on Hull’s Cottingham Road thanks to funding of over £500,000 from the European Regional Development Fund.

Hull Community Church has been working with a variety of community groups since 1980, based in a building on Cottingham Road providing office space, community rooms, training facilities, equipment and administration to projects working with groups such as the elderly, disabled, children and unemployed.

In the past 5 years the Community Church has expanded the number of projects they accommodate so much, that they have filled all their available space.  As a result, a new building will be provided that will provide increased space and new facilities.

The new building costing over £2m will provide many facilities including a large office complex providing integrated IT, conference room, daytime crèche, kitchen and café area, auditorium, sports hall and facilities for drop-in debt counselling, health advice and sessions with other professionals.

Upon completion the new building will accommodate 49 jobs, assist 25 organisations, and provide ICT access for at least 350 people.  Additionally, 200 local residents will be given assistance to find employment.

The attached image shows an artist’s impression of the new building.
