Huddersfield Business Generator

The Huddersfield Business Generator is a “pre-business incubation” project funded by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by the University of Huddersfield.

The Huddersfield Business Generator provides subsidised office work spaces, mentorship, an on site manager, and a range of business support to start-up businesses in the creative sector.  Since its launch in 2000, the team has helped create over 200 new businesses in Kirklees, with over half set up by Huddersfield University graduates.  The project also boasts an impressive business survival rate exceeding 75%.

The project’s funding of £488,906 runs until the end of December 2006 plans to ensure that 60 assisted SMEs survive beyond 18 months.  The project is also contracted to create 120 new jobs, provide £5,000,000 of increased business sales and provide financial assistance to 40 SMEs.
