The Georgian Theatre Royal – Richmond

Georgian Theatre OutsideThe Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond has benefited from over £180,000 of ERDF funding towards its improvement, maintenance and sustainability.  

The initial project at the Georgian Theatre Royal began in January 2001 and was to take place in two phases.  Phase 1 saw the restoration of the 1788 building including a new stage, upgraded lighting and sound equipment and seating plus a completely refurbished interior.

Phase 2 saw the building of a new extension to accommodate associated activities.   These improved facilities saw the capacity of the theatre increased by 491m2.

In total the project saw 2 gross direct new jobs created, 1 job accommodated, increased business sales of £64,500 and 491m2 of increased business space created using ERDF.
